US food retailer Fiesta Mart has acquired 11 outlets from supermarket chain Minyard Food Stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex from Texas-based RLS Supermarkets.
With the acquisition of RLS Supermarkets’ Minyard Food Stores, Fiesta Mart will currently operate a total of 70 stores across Texas.

By GlobalDataFiesta Mart chief executive officer Michael Byars said: "This action reinforces the strategic growth plan we put forth early last year. Our entire Fiesta team has worked together to move the brand forward organically, and now through acquisition we continue on our growth plan.
The acquired Minyard store locations will continue to receive its products from current supplier AWG, as well as from Grocery Supply, who provides groceries to Fiesta Mart.
The transitioning of the Minyard stores to Fiesta Mart will take place over the next several months.
Additional terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
Early last year, Fiesta Mart was taken over by ACON, a diversified international private equity firm with investments in the US and Latin America.
Founded in 1972, Texas-based Fiesta Mart currently owns 70 stores in the Austin, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth markets.
The supermarket chain serves customers with a vast variety of dry grocery and perishable products from more than 100 countries of origin.
