The Castle Gate Lifestyle Centre is a modern retail hub located in Pretoria, South Africa. It encompasses a wide array of retail, dining, and service options, designed to serve as a central hub for the community.

Construction works on the retail project began in 2019.

The initial phase of the shopping centre was unveiled to the public in November 2020 while the second phase was inaugurated in May 2024.

The project was developed by a joint venture (JV) between Atterbury Property Fund (APF) and The Carl Erasmus Trust.

APF is a collaboration between the property developer and investor Atterbury, its management, founders, and Talis Investment Partners.

The shopping centre is the first building block of the mixed-use Castle Gate Precinct being developed by the joint venture in Pretoria that typically combines residential, commercial, and recreational spaces within a single, integrated community.

The large-scale mixed-use precinct development project represents a significant investment of R6bn ($394.6m), which is expected to generate 20,000 permanent jobs.

Location

The Castle Gate Lifestyle Centre is located in the hub of Pretoria East on Koedoesnek Avenue, adjacent to Van Ryneveld Avenue and Solomon Mahlangu Drive.

It offers excellent access to the N1 and R21 highways and is a mere 25-minute drive from OR Tambo International Airport.

The centre is also well-connected to public transport and is just ten minutes from the Pretoria Gautrain Station and 15 minutes from the Pretoria central business district.
