Polish convenience chain retailer Żabka has selected the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) GreenLake cloud platform to run its SAP S/4HANA applications.

SAP S/4HANA, a ready-to-run cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP), powers processes such as warehousing, merchandise, logistics, price and promotion planning and customer experience.

Żabka will deploy HPE GreenLake suite of infrastructure as a service (IaaS), including HPE Superdome Flex scale-up servers, HPE ProLiant servers and HPE Alletra storage.

The offering also includes nonstop monitoring to predict bottlenecks using artificial intelligence (AI).

The platform will improve the Żabka’s performance, scalability, availability and predictable usage-based pricing to drive its expansion.

Żabka Group chief technology officer Jakub Masłowski said: “A key factor for us when choosing the technology was finding a reliable partner that was ready to propose a tool that best suited our needs to ensure security.

“We opted for HPE GreenLake, which will provide us with both the flexibility and speed characteristic of cloud solutions, as well as the control capabilities typical of on-premise infrastructure. Thanks to this, we gain greater system performance, which will help us create truly hybrid IT in our organisation."

Żabka has a network of 10,000 locations.

On average, the retailer opens 1,000 new stores a year, making it necessary for it to expand at a predictable cost.
