Weis Markets brings in SymphonyAI’s CINDE AI for prescriptive insights

Weis’ category management team will benefit from an integrated, category-wide perspective with AI-based insights.

Weis Markets, a food retailer in the US mid-Atlantic region, which includes the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, has announced its collaboration with SymphonyAI to enhance its category management capabilities.  

The retailer is set to implement SymphonyAI’s CINDE AI, an advanced enterprise AI SaaS [software-as-a-service] product, to develop prescriptive insights aimed at engaging customers and driving growth. 

The Weis Markets category management team will benefit from an integrated, category-wide perspective with AI-based insights.  

CINDE AI will empower category managers to understand customer behaviours and pinpoint performance drivers across the company, down to individual store level.  

The technology also identifies opportunities to increase customer loyalty. 

SymphonyAI’s CINDE AI will provide the retailer with detailed, data-driven analytics, facilitating more strategic partnerships with consumer packaged good suppliers.  

Weis Markets merchandising and marketing senior vice-president Bob Gleeson said: "We are pleased to expand our partnership with SymphonyAI.  

"We expect CINDE AI to offer our category management teams a single information source based on shopper insights that will help them offer customers the selection and value they want while meeting our business goals." 

Weis Markets operates a network of 197 stores across seven US mid-Atlantic states and employs approximately 23,000 associates.  

The retailer has been in partnership with SymphonyAI since 2018.
