Walmart is revamping its popular Neighborhood Market concept with the opening of two new, larger stores.

These stores mark the first phase of a five-year plan to expand the format across the US.

The new stores, located in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia, boast a significantly larger footprint of 57,000ft² compared to the traditional Neighborhood Market average of 40,000ft².

This expanded space allows for a wider selection of products, particularly in the fresh food departments such as bakery, produce, meat, and dairy.

The service deli will also feature a wider variety of hot food options.

The company's focus extends beyond product selection.

Wider aisles in the new stores offer shoppers a more spacious and efficient shopping experience.

Additionally, dedicated spaces for the pickup and delivery of orders, including a designated area for refrigerated items, allow for faster fulfilment.

Recognising the role Neighborhood Markets play within its communities, Walmart has added new amenities to enhance convenience for customers.

Store pharmacies now feature Health Services Rooms for private consultations and vaccinations while nursing mothers will appreciate the addition of dedicated Mother's Rooms.

Meanwhile, Walmart+ members will benefit from even greater convenience with free in-store pickup, free shipping on online orders, fuel discounts, access to Paramount+ streaming, and more.

The programme also offers Walmart+ Assist, allowing customers receiving qualifying government assistance to enjoy all these benefits at half the price.

Walmart emphasises a commitment to tailoring the Neighborhood Market format to individual communities.

Moving forward, remodels, conversions, and new store builds will be planned with the specific needs of each location in mind, ensuring the right product mix and services are offered.

This expansion signifies Walmart's continued dedication to the Neighborhood Market concept, ensuring these stores remain well-equipped to serve customers' needs, however they choose to shop.
