US-based multinational transportation company Uber is continuing to expand its partnership with robot delivery service provider companies.
The company’s online food ordering and delivery platform Uber Eats is set to introduce Coco's sidewalk robots.
The partnership is beginning in Los Angeles with plans to expand to additional cities in the second half of 2024.
Uber autonomous mobility and delivery global head Noah Zych said: "We're excited to welcome Coco's sidewalk robots on Uber Eats to enhance the delivery experience for both our merchants and customers.
"As we continue to popularise robot delivery in Los Angeles, our partnership with Coco drives us another step towards a more sustainable and autonomous future for delivery."
Founded in 2020, Coco's fleet consists of more than 1,000 emissions-free robots, offering an effective and affordable delivery solution for merchants.
The company has already built relationships with hundreds of merchants in the Los Angeles area.
It aims to provide sustainable, reliable and affordable last-mile logistics solutions in cities across the globe.
The service is already operational in Finland and several neighbourhoods in Los Angeles, including Santa Monica, Venice and West LA.
Coco plans to expand its reach across the US and Europe with thousands of additional robots.
Coco co-founder and CEO Zach Rash said: "We're thrilled to partner with Uber to expand our services to even more customers.
"With our rapidly growing fleet, we're in a unique position to bring unprecedented scale to this partnership and deliver the benefits of sustainable and affordable robot delivery to more customers around the world."
