Coffee-house chain Starbucks, in partnership with food delivery platform DoorDash, is offering an in-app delivery service to its customers across the US and Canada.

Customers in these two countries, excluding the Canadian province of Québec, can now place orders for delivery through the Starbucks app. They can also choose to order delivery directly from either the Starbucks or DoorDash apps.

The launch builds on previous partnership developments between the two companies made in January and March 2023.

This delivery option within the Starbucks app provides a seamless experience for customers, enabling them to order from virtually anywhere.

The integration with DoorDash allows Starbucks to tap into its extensive marketplace.

The delivery service uses Online Ordering, part of the DoorDash Commerce Platform, which offers merchants the ability to personalise digital experiences and gather customer-specific insights.

This integrated system aims to drive user engagement while providing a more tailored service.

When users access the Starbucks app, they will find an option to toggle between pickup and delivery at the top of the store selection screen.

This feature creates a unified digital experience for customers living within the delivery radius of participating stores.

A Starbucks spokesperson said: "By offering delivery in the Starbucks app for the first time, Starbucks is making it easier for customers to enjoy their favourite beverage and food from the Starbucks menu and simplifying the ordering process."

In September this year, Starbucks reaffirmed its commitment to a constructive relationship with the North American Workers United union, as the coffee chain continues negotiations for collective bargaining agreements, Reuters reported.
