Supermarket chain Sprouts Farmers Market has partnered with Uber Eats to offer on-demand grocery delivery service in the US.

Sprouts will launch delivery via Uber Eats to its markets in a phased manner, beginning in December 2023.

The service will initially be available in 40 locations in Florida, with plans to expand to all Sprouts locations by the end of 2023.

Customers can visit the Uber Eats mobile app or website to order more than 15,000 products for delivery, including local farm-fresh produce, keto-friendly, organic groceries and gluten-free products.

They can receive deliveries on-demand or schedule them based on their convenience.

Sprouts president and chief operating officer Nick Konat stated: “We are excited to expand our reach and respond to customer demand for fast, convenient delivery of our high-quality better-for-you products that you can’t find anywhere else.

“By partnering with Uber, more people will be able to access our uniquely healthy assortment and the season’s freshest, most delicious produce.”

The partners are offering customers a 50% discount on their first Sprouts delivery orders of at least $50 on Uber Eats. The offer is valid from 11 December 2023 to 31 January 2024.

All Sprouts stores will be available to Uber One members, offering members free delivery and discounts on all eligible orders with a $35 minimum purchase.

Uber Eats US and Canada grocery and retail head Christian Freese stated: “When consumers open the Uber Eats app, we want them to be able to get (almost, almost) anything delivered to their doorsteps—and Sprouts Farmers Market brings an incredible variety of healthy, delicious products from fresh-picked produce to baked goods and more.”

Personalization - a growing trend in the online retail space

Although personalization is a theme that has been present in the retail industry for decades, it has become more prevalent and important to consumers in recent years. This increase is tied to the rise of online shopping. Personalized products are currently especially prevalent in the health & beauty sector, due to the links to the health & wellness trend, which is particularly important to young consumers.
