SPAR UK wholesaler for the North of England James Hall & Co has announced the opening of The SPAR supermarket Bowness in the Lake District.
The store, situated on Rayrigg Road near Lake Windermere, features a comprehensive selection of fresh produce, a butcher's, a delicatessen, a coffee outlet and an off-licence.
The supermarket also houses a range of Cumbrian and Lakeland products.
For those interested in water activities, the store also offers kayaks and paddle boards.
It also features a four-pump Shell forecourt, an electric vehicle charge point, an air and water machine, customer parking and an English Lakes-branded ice cream van outside the store.
The SPAR supermarket Bowness operates from 6am to midnight seven days a week.
In collaboration with SPAR UK, James Hall & Co has designed the supermarket to include digital screens and electronic shelf edge labels for a modern shopping experience.
Its construction incorporates local Lake District slate.
James Hall & Co retail development director Niels Dekkers said: “We feel that we have a range in-store that will cater to visitors to the Lake District as well as support the core community of Bowness who live in the village throughout the year.”
In preparation for the launch, James Hall & Co has also been involved in supporting local initiatives such as Save Windermere, which addresses environmental concerns in the area.
This engagement reflects SPAR UK's commitment to nurturing neighbourhoods and supporting local communities.
James Hall & Co recently opened a new 278m² supermarket in Nafferton in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
