SPAR Georgia has inaugurated a new academy aimed at advancing the professional development of its workforce.
The academy, which opened in November 2023, comes in response to the company's need to foster a skilled team to sustain its growth trajectory.
The retailer began work on the project some years ago but suspended it due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The facility offers modern standards and workspaces, including a simulation room that replicates a store environment to enable practical, hands-on training.
The academy also has dedicated spaces for relaxation and study, supporting a holistic learning experience.
The SPAR Academy will offer training sessions, classes and seminars for head office staff and store employees.
Equipped with modern educational techniques, the academy is focused on providing a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
A dedicated team of trainers, along with experienced professionals from within SPAR Georgia, will deliver the training, offer their expertise and engage in knowledge sharing.
The SPAR Academy will also play a pivotal role in hiring and training store employees, ensuring they are well-versed in operational procedures.
The strategic move is expected to give a competitive edge to SPAR stores across Georgia.
SPAR Georgia intends to extend the academy's services to its licensed retailers, which will increase the utility and reach of the training facility.
Colruyt Group, the partner of SPAR in Belgium, earlier announced the development of the supermarket brand’s store network in the country with two re-openings and one new launch.
