SPAR China has enhanced its commitment to retail expansion and modernisation with the opening of a new store in the Dongsheng district of the city of Ordos and the revamping of a store in the city of Dongguan.

In January 2024, SPAR Shandong celebrated the opening of a new store in Galaxy COcO City, a key commercial hub in Dongsheng.

The 6,000m² hypermarket offers a wide range of products including fresh food and local delicacies, catering to the preferences of the local community.

The store's launch featured promotions such as a 5.9% discount on all products, reduced prices on popular gift boxes and discounts on renowned wines, attracting significant customer interest.

The SPAR supermarket in Ka Wing Machong, Dongguan, re-opened after completing a renovation programme including an improved layout and upgraded facilities.

The store's revamp enhances the SPAR brand image, improves market competitiveness and provides high-quality service at affordable prices.

The renovated supermarket features a baking area with the popular Walnut Mario bread, a fruit section with discounted local favourites and a food street offering local specialities.

The dining area has been designed for customer comfort, complete with mobile phone holders and charging sockets.

The store also organised a New Year’s goods street for the 2024 Spring Festival, offering bulk items and specialities for the occasion.

SPAR China now operates more than 1,300 stores in 41 cities across eight provinces, showcasing its strategic growth in the retail sector.

In February 2024 the company unveiled a new climate-friendly supermarket concept in Vienna, Austria.
