Footwear and apparel company Skechers has unveiled its inaugural Performance store in Canada. The brand seeks to transform retail with immersive experiences and interactive product trials.
Situated at West Edmonton Mall, the flagship location showcases Skechers' range of technologies designed for competitors across all skill levels in golf, soccer, running, training, walking, trail and hiking. Its ranges have garnered a following among top athletes worldwide.
The location features dedicated zones for Skechers Pickleball and Skechers Basketball.
Products incorporate proprietary performance and comfort technologies such as Skechers Hyper Burst Pro Technology and Skechers Performance FitKnit Technology.
The 7,500ft² store has the largest sales floor among Skechers concept stores globally.
The store is lined with digital LED screens and includes half-size pickleball and basketball courts.
Skechers president Michael Greenberg said: “With the world’s elite pros wearing our shoes from the court to the pitch, mound and green, our retail stores’ innovative performance products have become a magnet for athletes who want game-changing products with essential comfort — and the time has come to launch a new play.
“Our new performance store offers competitors at every level the complete experience: from our largest-ever offering of performance footwear, apparel and accessories, to Skechers specialists and educators for our diverse sports technologies, and courts where consumers can discover how our products perform without ever leaving the store.”
Skechers' extensive product range is accessible at more than 5,300 outlets worldwide, on the brand’s website and through department stores and footwear retailers internationally.
Its endorsement roster includes basketball stars, golfers, soccer stars, pickleball champions, cricketers and baseball players.
In December 2024, Skechers increased its retail footprint in central Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, with a new concept store on the city’s Na Příkopě shopping street.
