Norwegian discount grocery chain REMA 1000 has migrated from its previous hosting provider to SymphonyAI’s hosted cloud-based platform.

The retailer has scaled up with SymphonyAI store mobility, store operations, demand forecasting, and space planning and automation in the cloud.

The transition to one-stop-shop cloud hosting will provide REMA 1000 with better scalability and agility, while cutting maintenance effort and cost.

REMA 1000, a SymphonyAI customer since 2015, leverages the latter’s solutions to streamline store operations, automate space planning and planogram [the creation of a visual representation of product placements] processes.

SymphonyAI’s artificial intelligence-based solution also enhances demand forecasting accuracy, while maintaining efficiency.

REMA 1000 chief information officer Vegard Strøm stated: “We are pleased to evolve our collaboration with SymphonyAI to the next level of maturity with migration to cloud-based solutions. With SymphonyAI's end-to-end and data-driven SaaS capabilities, we can respond with more agility to fast-changing supplier, market and shopper behaviours.

“The result is a win-win: a more customer-centric experience for our shoppers and more predictable business outcomes for REMA 1000.”

REMA 1000, a subsidiary of Reitan Retail, has a network of more than 670 stores in Norway.

SymphonyAI Retail CPG vertical international senior vice-president Dusan Rnic stated: “We greatly value our multiyear strategic relationship with REMA 1000, and we are excited to give them the full benefit of the efficiency, security, and scalability of our cloud-based solutions to run core retail operations.”

UK retail company Southern Co-op and Scottish Midland Co-operative have recently selected SymphonyAI’s Retail CPG assortment and space planning solutions to streamline their store operations.

REMA 1000 also operates more than 670 stores in Norway.
