Fashion brand Ralph Lauren has opened a dedicated digital commerce platform and its first luxury store in Canada.

Located on the ground floor of Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, the store is the first in a planned expansion in Canada, complementing the brand’s existing wholesale and outlet footprint in Toronto.

The new store houses a mix of Men’s Purple Label and Women’s Collection, as well as a curated selection of Polo Ralph Lauren Men’s and Women’s collections.

Besides product offerings, the store provides dedicated client services, including private styling appointments, alterations and repairs and Made-to-Measure tailoring.

The new site, RalphLauren.ca, will offer the company’s full portfolio of brands, including Purple Label, Ralph Lauren Collection, Polo Ralph Lauren, Double RL and Lauren.

Ralph Lauren will launch the English version of its Canadian digital commerce site on 11 October, with plans to launch in Quebec with a French-language version.

Ralph Lauren North America regional chief executive officer Bob Ranftl said: “Ralph Lauren’s ethos of timelessness and authenticity has inspired and connected with our Canadian consumers for decades and we’re excited to bring a more holistic expression of our brand to Canada.

“We look forward to serving our consumers throughout Canada with enhanced and elevated experiences that reflect our luxury lifestyle point of view.”

The opening of a new retail store and digital commerce site aligns with the company’s strategy to expand in North America, Asia and Europe.

Ralph Lauren currently operates a network of 12 outlet stores in Canada. It also has a wholesale presence at major retailers, including Hudson’s Bay, Sporting Life and Harry Rosen.

The company plans to open more stores across the country in the near future.

Traditional AI is here to stay in the retail and apparel space

Initially, retailers used AI for basic tasks, including inventory management and demand forecasting. However, its usage has now become more prevalent in other aspects such as personalized marketing, customer service, pricing optimization, and supply chain management. With the rise of ecommerce and the increasing importance of data-driven decision-making, AI adoption in retail and apparel has accelerated. The industry now relies on AI to enhance the shopping experience, optimize business operations, and gain an overall competitive edge.
