Prezzemolo & Vitale (P&V), an Italian food shop, has chosen to partner with Pricer for the rollout of digital shelf labels across its stores in London, UK.
The decision was made after a comprehensive evaluation of the electronic shelf label (ESL) market.
P&V selected Pricer's offerings as they aligned with its premium store aesthetics and digital operation goals.
The deployment of the Pricer Plaza Store Manager cloud-based solution and ESLs enables P&V to instantly update pricing and promotions, ensuring accuracy at the shelf edge.
The technology also resulted in savings on labour hours, allowed staff to dedicate more time to customer service and enhanced in-store experiences.
Pricer's solution has further optimised store operations, particularly in stock replenishment. The Flash feature of the ESLs alerts associates to items needing restocking, effectively reducing shelf gaps.
P&V, with its roots in Palermo, Sicily, specialises in high-quality, artisan Italian produce sold through its modern estate of grocery stores.
The retailer entered the UK in 2017 with its first store in London’s Kings Road, Chelsea.
It has expanded to three more delicatessens in chic London boroughs and plans to open two stores in Kensington and Clapham Junction in 2024.
The collaboration with Pricer has brought modern, automated pricing and improved operational efficiencies to P&V's 2,500 in-store stock-keeping units.
The rollout began in Wimbledon in September 2023 and continued to Notting Hill in early December.
P&V chief operating officer Salvatore Prezzemollo said: “As the saying goes, ‘retail is detail’ and Pricer is helping us to ensure our pricing and store operations can run effectively with the attention to detail and customer service we want to be able to offer to our customers.
“The Pricer team worked seamlessly with our IT staff in Italy, quickly and efficiently rolling out the ESLs in-store, whilst also affording us the flexibility to add some custom integrations so the solution fits our business needs perfectly.”
