Ireland-based fast fashion retailer Primark has revealed plans to enter the Maryland market as it continues expanding its US footprint.
The retailer will open its first store in the state at Arundel Mills in Hanover on 7 September.
The 36,000ft² store will offer the latest fashion trends and essentials, as well as homeware and beauty products.
Primark’s Arundel Mills location will bring its total store network in the US to 21 and 430 stores globally.
The new store will generate both full and part-time roles.
The opening aligns with the brand's US growth plan to reach 60 stores by 2026.
It aims to open another DMV location in 2024 at Tyson's Corner Center in Northern Virginia.
Primark US president Kevin Tulip said: "It has been a difficult few years for American families and in this challenging economic environment, it has been extremely rewarding to introduce more communities to Primark's unique combination of fashion and affordability as we expand in the US.
"I'm so excited to be opening our first store in the state of Maryland and hope that shoppers in the DMV region will visit us and find their new go-to destination for this season's styles at affordable prices that will delight even the most price-conscious shoppers.”
In May this year, Primark revealed plans to open three new stores in the US by mid-2023.
The fashion retailer aims to reach 530 stores by the end of 2026, including its planned entry in Hungary.
