Premium live-video shopping platform NTWRK has agreed to acquire lifestyle and culture publisher and content creator Complex, to create a next-generation content and shopping experience.
The move aims to establish a unique destination for “superfan” culture, combining e-commerce with engaging content to lead the future of convergence culture.
The acquisition is a strategic step to enhance Complex's reach to young audiences and integrate it with NTWRK's marketplace, targeting culture-obsessed consumers.
The merger of NTWRK's e-commerce expertise with Complex's content creation is expected to transform the new entity into a digital hub at the forefront of convergence culture.
NTWRK, known for its live-video shopping platform and curated marketplace, is a pioneer in the livestream shopping industry, which is projected to grow to $68bn in sales by 2026 in the US.
The integration will leverage both platforms to offer a seamless experience for an engaged audience.
The new company will be under the leadership of Aaron Levant, co-founder of NTWRK, who has been instrumental in the platform's growth since its launch in 2018.
Aaron Levant said: “Complex has been a beacon of culture and innovation for over two decades. My journey with Complex began as an admirer of their original magazine in 2002 and it has now come full circle as I step into the leadership role. Alongside this impressive team, we will create the definitive global content, commerce and experiential platform of convergence culture.”
NTWRK has already partnered with figures such as Post Malone and Takashi Murakami.
The acquisition will bring in music labels Interscope Geffen A&M and Capitol Music Group as strategic partners.
This will offer a platform for artists from all labels to connect with fans through unique experiences and exclusive collaborations.
