Holland & Barrett has announced the opening of its new store in Ipswich, England, located in the city centre on Tavern Street.

The store is part of the company's ongoing efforts to upgrade its retail presence across the UK and Ireland.

Covering 1,270ft², the shop introduces a modern layout and a variety of health and wellness products, including the retailer's newest food range.

The store opening is part of a broader £70m ($92.14m) investment by Holland & Barrett, aimed at upgrading its stores, technology, and product offerings.

This initiative has already seen the refurbishment and opening of more than 200 locations in the UK, with more planned in the near future.

Expanded product range and wellness focus

The Ipswich store will offer a wider selection of products designed to support various wellness needs.

Holland & Barrett has introduced its latest food range, which marks a major change for the company, focusing on key health areas such as gut health and skin.

The food selection is tailored to specialised diets, catering to those with specific nutritional requirements.

One notable innovation is the introduction of 'Plant Points' on food labels, encouraging customers to eat a wider variety of plants, aiming for 30 different types each week.

The range was developed by the company's team of nutritionists and chefs.

Personalised health advice available

Customers at the Ipswich branch will also have access to personalised health advice from a team of qualified staff.

The store’s employees are trained to provide tailored recommendations to support individual wellness goals.

In addition, a Women's Health Coach will be on hand to offer specialised guidance on hormone health.

The store team, led by manager Martin Palman, brings more than 25 years of combined experience.

Palman expressed enthusiasm about the new location and the opportunity to serve Ipswich customers with health and wellness solutions.

Sustainability efforts in store design

Holland & Barrett's new Ipswich store has been designed with sustainability in mind.

Recycled materials such as mild steel and Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood have been used in the refit to reduce waste.

Energy-efficient LED lighting has also been installed to cut energy consumption and lower carbon emissions. These measures are part of the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact through store renovations and refits.

In addition to the new Tavern Street store, the company recently opened a concession inside Next in Ipswich, offering a curated range of 1,000 products from its health and wellness range.

This forms part of Holland & Barrett's efforts to reach a wider audience and provide convenient access to its products.
