B&M has opened a new store on Hawley Road in Hinckley, providing an economic boost to the area. This expansion has generated more than 20 job opportunities for local residents.

The new store spans 15,378ft² and offers a range of branded groceries at competitive prices. Shoppers can access a variety of food, beverages, baby food and pet supplies.

The store also carries health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games and gifts, catering to a wide array of consumer needs.

Supporting a local charity

In a community-oriented initiative, B&M engaged its staff in selecting a local charity to participate in the store's opening. The chosen charity is the Hinckley Area Foodbank, recognised for its commitment to addressing food insecurity in the community.

Hinckley Area Foodbank's mission is to provide three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to individuals referred to them during times of crisis.

In the year 2022-2023, they distributed 64,593 emergency meals to 7,177 people, with 23,607 of these meals designated to children under 16. Their ongoing efforts aim to combat poverty and hunger in the UK.

Community acknowledgment

The store manager expressed enthusiasm for the store's launch and positive customer feedback. Gratitude was extended to the Hinckley Area Foodbank team for their involvement in the store's opening.

B&M's contribution is expected to aid the Foodbank in its vital work of supporting the local community.

The new B&M store offers an expanded shopping option for local residents, along with a collaborative effort to support the Hinckley Area Foodbank in its mission to alleviate hunger in the community.

This partnership reflects the potential for local businesses and charities to join forces for the betterment of the community.

Traditional AI is here to stay in the retail and apparel space

Initially, retailers used AI for basic tasks, including inventory management and demand forecasting. However, its usage has now become more prevalent in other aspects such as personalized marketing, customer service, pricing optimization, and supply chain management. With the rise of ecommerce and the increasing importance of data-driven decision-making, AI adoption in retail and apparel has accelerated. The industry now relies on AI to enhance the shopping experience, optimize business operations, and gain an overall competitive edge.
