B&M has announced the reopening of its store at The Fort shopping park in Birmingham, bringing more than 60 job opportunities to the local community.
The 21,479ft² facility, formerly occupied by Poundworld, Clarks, Debenhams and New Look, underwent renovations and reopened on 14 October 2023.
This is one of many B&M shops situated in the West Midlands, with a total of four stores now located in Birmingham.
Further expansion
The new store is part of B&M’s expansion across the country following its other store openings in Hinckley and Newbury in the last few weeks.
Additionally, following Wilko’s entry into administration, the variety store chain has acquired 51 former Wilko stores, with announcements expected in November regarding their reopening.
Shoppers will be able to find deals on a wide variety of branded groceries, including food, drinks and pet supplies.
The store will also offer a selection of health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and more.
Supporting a local charity
In a community-oriented initiative and in line with its recent openings, the store opening was conducted in collaboration with a charity.
Balvinder Kaur conducted the opening ceremony on behalf of the British Heart Foundation Charity, which annually contributes around £100m ($121.8m) to combat heart and circulatory diseases.
The store aims to become a notable addition to The Fort Shopping Park and the wider community, contributing to the local job market and providing local residents with a variety of big brands at low prices.
