Japanese department store group Isetan Mitsukoshi has created a joint venture with One Bangkok, a smart district developed by TCC Assets and Frasers Property to provide a new shopping and lifestyle destination in the city, to enter the market in Thailand.
The partners will open a "Depachika", a concept Mitsukoshi supermarket and food hall within One Bangkok Retail, offering an array of international and local brands, fresh produce and a variety of dining options.
The 4,600m² food destination will be situated on the basement level of the Parade.
Customers will have access to fresh produce, meat and fish sourced from exclusive farmer networks and Japanese producers.
The food hall will feature a selection of Japanese brands, pastry boutiques, cafés and restaurants, many of which will be making their debut in Thailand.
The partnership will co-invest in One Bangkok Office Tower 4, further promoting the district as a hub for global office businesses that prioritises premium space, employee well-being, sustainability and smart technology.
Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings president and CEO Toshiyuki Hosoya said: "As we target customers from around the world, Asia is considered a highly significant region for us. Thailand especially has strong ties with Japan and a large customer base that appreciates the quality of Japanese products and shares the values held by [the] Isetan Mitsukoshi's department store and we believe that Bangkok has a high potential to drive the value even further.
“The One Bangkok project, with its progressive approach in all aspects, including design and sustainability, aligns perfectly with our company's vision and exemplifies the innovative, forward-thinking development we aim to be part of. By bringing our long-established culture and tradition, we are confident that Isetan Mitsukoshi will enrich the One Bangkok project, offering a unique and valuable experience."
Mitsukoshi operates 20 department stores and 130 small to medium-sized stores in Japan, and 25 stores outside the country.
