Michael Kors, a luxury fashion brand owned by Capri, has partnered with Mastercard to introduce Shopping Muse, an AI-powered shopping assistant developed by Dynamic Yield, a Mastercard company.
With the partnership, Michael Kors becomes the first retailer to offer Shopping Muse and its advanced generative AI capabilities to consumers on its US website.
Shopping Muse replicates the in-person shopping experience online by interpreting customers' natural language to provide personalised product suggestions.
This will help consumers quickly find the perfect look that matches their inquiry as well as their demonstrated behaviour and preferences.
This boosts shopper satisfaction and revenue, with early tests indicating that Shopping Muse could deliver a 15 to 20% higher conversion rate compared to standard search functions.
Dynamic Yield CEO Ori Bauer said: “As a trailblazer in ready-to-wear fashion, Michael Kors is a perfect example of how to put our ready-to-use technology to use. Shopping Muse is helping translate the signature Michael Kors service to the digital world, delivering a satisfying shopping experience as singular and impactful as the brand’s aesthetic.”
Initially launched in late 2023, Shopping Muse was first made available to fashion retailers such as Michael Kors and has now expanded to the furniture sector.
This broadening reach signifies a move towards smarter, more seamless shopping experiences across retail categories.
Mastercard ensures that all its products, including Shopping Muse, are embedded with top-tier privacy safeguards.
In May 2024, luxury fashion group Capri reported an 8.4% decrease in total revenue for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024, amounting to $1.22bn.
