Mattress Firm, a US-based omni-channel mattress speciality retailer, has announced a new partnership with local commerce platform DoorDash.
The partners are introducing on-demand, two-hour mattresses and bedding accessories delivery from more than 2,300 Mattress Firm locations across the US.
Customers will also gain the benefits of inclusion in DashPass, DoorDash's membership programme that offers $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders.
In addition to the rapid delivery service, customers will have access to Mattress Firm's extensive product range, which includes top brands and exclusive lines.
The collaboration also features real-time tracking of mattress deliveries through the DoorDash app, providing consumers with a seamless and transparent purchasing experience.
Mattress Firm chief digital officer George Hanson said: "This partnership catapults us into a new era of customer service.
"We're not just delivering quality mattresses and pillows, but also a shopping experience that meets the on-demand expectations of today's consumers. Our partnership with DoorDash combines our sleep expertise with on-demand delivery to ensure Americans can enjoy better rest sooner than ever before."
The timing of the launch is particularly advantageous for college students gearing up for the new academic year.
With the ability to order mattresses and bedding with on-demand delivery, students and parents can alleviate the stress of logistics or last-minute shopping.
The on-demand mattress delivery service is accessible through the DoorDash mobile app, which is available for download on both iOS and Android devices.
The proposed acquisition of Mattress Firm by US maker Tempur Sealy recently hit a roadblock after a new document unsealed by a Texas judge revealed that the deal is intended to “eliminate future competition”.
