Home furnishing retailer IKEA Canada is set to enhance its retail presence in the country with two new plan and order points.
The retailer will open the first of these in London, Ontario on 6 March 2024 and the second in Lachenaie, Quebec on 20 March. A third is planned for Barrie, Ontario in the summer.
The additions will make IKEA's affordable home furnishing products and services more accessible to customers.
Plan and order points are designed to offer customers personalised support from IKEA experts for planning, ordering and purchasing complex home furnishing solutions.
They offer walk-in and appointment-based services, enabling customers to collaborate with specialists on projects for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms.
Products at these locations are not available for immediate takeaway, but customers can explore a curated selection of IKEA solutions and place orders for home delivery or local pick-up.
The London plan and order point is situated at the Wonderland Power Centre. The Lachenaie point is in the Galeries de Lanaudière shopping centre.
The upcoming Barrie plan and order point, to be located at the SmartCentres Barrie South shopping centre, will take IKEA Canada’s total number of such points to eight.
IKEA Canada country business development and transformation manager Inna Romagnoli said:: "Our recent IKEA Life at Home report has shown that up to 50% of Canadians are looking to either move or renovate their homes in the next two years, and we want to support them by providing affordable and inspiring home furnishing solutions that meet the evolving needs of their homes.
“We're excited to bring an elevated planning experience to our London and Lachenaie neighbours and help them take the guesswork out of planning the space of their dreams."
In January 2024 IKEA launched a new wave of price cuts for a range of products.
