British luxury department store Harrods has partnered with direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce company Global-e to enhance its international online operations.
Global-e's platform will enable Harrods’ customers worldwide to enjoy the same experience and personalisation.
Customers worldwide can look forward to browsing and paying in local currencies, using various local and alternative payment methods, as well as enjoying attractive shipping options.
The collaboration also promises advanced duty and tax calculations with prepayment options for a guaranteed final purchase cost, alongside an easy return process.
In addition, Global-e's platform will support Harrods in optimising its approach to international sales.
The technology integrates localisation capabilities, streamlined operations, trade compliance, big-data business intelligence models, and deep local market expertise.
This will aid Harrods in navigating the complexities of global e-commerce.
Harrods digital and customer officer Caitlin Innes said: "At Harrods we are continuously expanding our e-commerce presence to deliver memorable experiences to our customers around the world, making it crucial to partner with those who can support our ambitious goals. We have partnered with Global-e to provide a seamless customer experience for both our UK and international visitors.”
"Global-e brings a wealth of experience in managing international transactions and deliveries for a range of major international companies and its robust technology platform, extensive industry insights, and proven expertise made it the ideal choice."
This collaboration aims to provide its customers across more than 200 markets with a seamless and localised online shopping experience.
