Gap’s 50th Indian store opens at Mumbai’s Phoenix Palladium mall 

Reliance Retail is the official retailer for Gap across all channels in India.

Reliance Retail has inaugurated the 50th Gap store in India at Phoenix Palladium Mall in Mumbai, achieving a new benchmark in its alliance with the international apparel label.  

The milestone follows the two companies' entering a franchise agreement in 2022, making Reliance Retail the official retailer for Gap across all channels in India. 

The store showcases an extensive collection of Gap’s modern essentials, including denim, logo products and khakis for all ages. 

Reliance Retail Limited fashion and lifestyle president and CEO Akhilesh Prasad stated: “We are thrilled to unveil the new Gap store at Phoenix Palladium Mall. This store represents a fresh and vibrant evolution of Gap's retail experience in India, combining global style with unbeatable value.  

“On visiting the new Gap stores, customers will not only discover the new product range, but a tech-enabled shopping experience including smart trial rooms, an endless aisle and an omni experience, along with a better price value.” 

The Phoenix Palladium store reflects Gap’s commitment to blending style, accessibility and innovation.  

With plans to further expand in India, the brand aims to introduce its signature style and quality to a broader audience. 

Gap franchise and wholesale senior vice-president Facundo Ginobili stated: “We are proud to partner with Reliance Retail to continue growing the GAP brand in India. Achieving this milestone of 50 stores reflects the incredible enthusiasm for the brand in the market and reinforces our commitment to delivering iconic American style to customers across the region." 

Reliance Retail recently reported that its revenue for the third quarter (Q3) of fiscal 2025 (FY25) reached Rs903.33bn ($10.45bn), marking an 8.8% increase year-on-year (YoY) and an 18.4% rise quarter-on-quarter.  

The company’s operational earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) saw a 9.8% Y-o-Y improvement. 

The retail giant reported a profit after tax of Rs34.85bn for the quarter, a 10.1% YoY enhancement.  

During this quarter, Reliance Retail inaugurated 779 new stores, bringing the total count to 19,102 stores covering an operational area of 77.4 million ft2.  

Q3 of FY25 also witnessed footfall exceeding 296 million, demonstrating 5% YoY growth.
