FordDirect, a joint venture between Ford dealers, Lincoln retailers, and Ford Motor Company, has unveiled its latest initiative - an innovative e-commerce platform named 'The Shop.'
This online shopping experience is tailored to assist dealers in navigating the evolving landscape of the retail automotive business.
The Shop, powered by FordDirect, offers dealers a centralised platform featuring vetted vendors with prenegotiated prices for essential products and services.
This streamlined approach aims to reduce the time spent on vendor searches and rate negotiations, providing dealers with a convenient way to explore offerings and enrol in new solutions for their stores.
Diverse vendors at launch
Modelled after successful online shopping experiences, The Shop boasts an array of vendors to meet the diverse needs of dealerships.
Notable vendors at the platform's launch include Better Car People, ComplyAuto, OfferLogix, STELLA Automotive AI, Velocity Automotive, Volie, WarrCloud, and Work Truck Solutions.
These vendors cover a range of services, from comprehensive business development centres to warranty processing technology.
Addressing dealership challenges
Recognising the growing demands on dealerships, FordDirect acknowledges the need for day-to-day resources in areas such as customer service, compliance, employee management, technology updates, and sales event planning.
The Shop is designed to enhance efficiencies and cost savings, allowing dealerships to focus on their core activities.
Brian Godfrey, president of Pat Milliken Ford and FordDirect board chair, expressed confidence in The Shop as an extension of the trusted services provided by FordDirect.
Dealerships anticipate finding additional solutions outside the current offerings, enhancing their operational capabilities.
