Magnet, a kitchen retail brand, has announced the opening of its first franchise store scheduled for 20 June 2024 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, UK.
This initiative represents an expansion of Magnet's business model into franchising. The launch of the franchise allows local entrepreneurs to operate under the Magnet brand while adhering to its operational guidelines.
The move is part of Magnet’s broader strategy to increase its market presence throughout the UK by utilising local business acumen and insights.
The franchise will be managed by Ben Thornton and Kenny Devlin, who are also the proprietors of Hengate Homes.
Thornton and Devlin bring extensive experience from the kitchen industry to the new venture, planning to offer both product sales and comprehensive project management services.
Management and operations
The store will be managed by John May, a veteran in the kitchen industry with more than 25 years of experience.
May’s career progressed from entry-level positions to managerial roles within Magnet before taking on the role at the Tunbridge Wells store.
The new franchise store is part of Magnet's strategy to foster local involvement in its operations, which includes local hiring and community engagement activities such as supporting the Langton Green Football Club.
