British retailer Co-op has unveiled its newly revamped store in Belfast, Northern Ireland, following a six-week refurbishment programme. 

Located on Connsbrook Avenue, the 1,000ft² outlet now places a greater emphasis on fresh food, chilled produce, and local products. 

The store also offers bakery and dairy items, food to go, meal deals, fairtrade products, pizzas, and others. 

The revamped Sydenham Co-op store supports 14 local jobs. 

In addition to in-store shopping, customers can take advantage of online grocery delivery services through Deliveroo, Just Eat, and the Co-op’s own online platform.   

This provides the option for orders to be freshly picked from the local store. 

Co-op Sydenham store manager Vicky Hutchinson said: "The whole team is delighted to have had the opportunity to invest in Sydenham - the store has been totally transformed, and with new refrigeration we have enhanced our range of fresh products. 

“We are really enjoying welcoming our members and customers back into their Co-op. It is always our aim to operate at the heart of local life and we have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve and support our community, conveniently.” 

The UK-based retailer operates a network of nearly 2,400 food stores and supplies products to more than 6,000 other stores. 

The reopening in Sydenham comes shortly after Co-op reopened its Tilehurst store in Reading, Berkshire, following a comprehensive two-month renovation programme.
