British co-operative Co-op has announced the opening of a new store in Parbold, West Lancashire, and the re-opening of a store in Killay, Swansea following renovation.
The new 2,500ft² Parbold store, situated on Station Road, has created 12 local jobs and includes an in-store bakery and a Costa Coffee Express.
The Parbold Co-op offers a selection of fresh, chilled and healthy produce, meal ideas, everyday essentials, food-to-go options, Fairtrade products, chilled beers, ready meals and plant-based goods.
The store will shortly introduce online grocery delivery through Deliveroo, allowing for quick and convenient service in the local area.
Parbold Co-op store manager Lee Ashton said: “We had a great response on launch day and the whole team is delighted to have the opportunity to open Co-op’s newest store.
“It looks fantastic, and now we are looking forward to welcoming our members and customers into their brand-new Co-op with our aim to operate at the heart of local life – serving the local community and commuters using the neighbouring railway station. We have worked to develop the range, choice and services to create a compelling offer to serve the community, conveniently.”
The Co-op’s Killay store in Swansea has relaunched after a nine-week refurbishment.
The nearly 4,500ft² store on Gower Road supports 25 local jobs and features an InPost locker for parcel collection services.
It will also shortly offer online grocery delivery.
Both stores have installed soft plastic recycling units for crisp packets, ready meal lids, biscuit wrappers and pet food pouches.
In July 2024 Co-op launched new stores in Alperton, London and Ashley Down, Bristol.
