As Easter approaches, anticipation builds for the long-awaited holiday weekend, and with it, an insight into consumer shopping habits emerges.

Amidst the flurry of travel preparations, BP, a prominent fuel and retail company, sheds light on the expected shopping trends during this bustling period.

Chocolate fans are set to indulge as bp forecasts sales of more than two million chocolate eggs. Notably, the iconic Cadbury Creme Egg is poised for a significant surge, with an anticipated 47% increase in sales compared to last year.

The demand for Easter flowers is also blooming, with a remarkable 44% rise in sales observed from the previous year's figures.

Fuelling up for the journey

As travellers hit the road, bp foresees a rush for sustenance, projecting sales of nearly half a million hot drinks in the lead up to Easter.

Alongside caffeine fixes, a variety of savoury delights are expected to fly off the shelves, including 40,000 sausage rolls and 50,000 bacon and cheese turnovers.

Sweet tooths won't be disappointed either, with an estimated 35,000 doughnuts set to be devoured during the Easter week.

Speciality drinks and dining deals

To cater to diverse tastes, bp introduces a fresh range of iced drinks, with favourites such as iced caramel fudge lattes and cookies and cream iced mochas.

Additionally, customers can look forward to dining deals featuring discounted prices on Marks and Spencer's prosecco, chocolate, wine, and meal options such as the Gastropub dine-in for two.
