Beyond, the parent company of retail entities including Bed Bath & Beyond and Overstock, has announced the launch of a new international licensing initiative.

The licensing programme aims to extend its reach through various channels, beginning with the Bed Bath & Beyond brand.

It will enable product distribution of Bed Bath & Beyond branded home goods through a variety of retail platforms, such as mass market retailers, discount stores and online marketplaces.

A specific licensing agreement has been secured for Bed Bath & Beyond storefronts in Mexico, with ongoing negotiations for expansion into other significant global markets.

Beyond executive chairman Marcus Lemonis stated: “We’re thrilled to bring the beloved Bed Bath & Beyond brand back to life in this new and exciting way.

“Through affordable, quality goods that will soon be on retail shelves – both physical and online – we’re re-invigorating the brand and returning it to its core. The Bed Bath & Beyond brand is both aspirational and attainable, and our brand will continue to reflect these values.”

The licensed Bed Bath & Beyond products will encompass bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and outdoor living spaces.

PEM America, a home textile products manufacturer, has also acquired a comprehensive category licence. This agreement covers an extensive range of products including fashion and utility bedding, sheet sets, bath textiles, accessories, window treatments and other home décor items.

Beyond maintains ownership of several brands including Baby & Beyond and Zulily, along with their associated intellectual properties.

Beyond chief financial and administrative officer Adrianne Lee said: “In June 2023, we purchased certain intellectual property assets of Bed Bath & Beyond for $21.5m.

“In April 2024, we sold our rights to the Wamsutta brand for $10.25m. This is just the beginning of our management team’s mandate to monetise our intellectual property and assets.”
