Amazon Prime unveils festive shopping features

Simplified order tracking, continuous 24/7 live chat support and transparent reviews are designed to streamline the shopping process.

As the holiday season approaches, Amazon is enhancing its Buy with Prime benefit, providing millions of US-based Prime members with additional perks for a convenient and trusted shopping experience.

Various merchants, including Wyze, KNOW Beauty and ALT Fragrances are already onboard with Buy with Prime, offering Amazon's signature fast, free delivery, seamless checkout and free returns on eligible orders.

New features for Prime members this holiday season:

All Orders in One Place: Prime members can now track their Buy with Prime orders seamlessly using their Amazon account on both Amazon.com and the mobile app.

This feature simplifies the holiday shopping experience, allowing users to monitor both Amazon and off-Amazon Prime orders in one centralised location.

24/7 Live Chat Support: Amazon introduces 24/7 live chat customer service for Buy with Prime orders, enhancing customer support for Prime members.

This live chat feature connects users with trained Amazon representatives, offering human-assisted customer service around the clock for their Buy with Prime orders.

Easy Hassle-Free Returns: Returning eligible Buy with Prime orders is now even more straightforward. Prime members can enjoy the hassle-free returns process directly on brands’ sites, choosing from an expanded list of drop-off locations, including UPS Store locations, Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go stores.

No need for boxing or labelling items—customers can bring the item in the manufacturer’s original packaging along with the QR code generated during the return process to their selected drop-off location.

Trusted reviews beyond Amazon

In a move to enhance transparency, shoppers can now access authentic Amazon reviews on off-Amazon product pages for participating brands offering Buy with Prime.

These reviews, complete with the familiar Amazon star rating, provide shoppers with valuable insights from real customers, fostering confidence in the products and the sites they are considering for purchase.

Merchant benefits and Prime member statistics

Amazon's vice-president of Buy with Prime, Peter Larsen, highlights the continuous innovation to expand the selection and improve the shopping experience for Prime members.

Merchants offering Buy with Prime are not only providing benefits that shoppers love and trust but are also experiencing the acquisition of new customers.

Initial results show that, on average, three out of every four Buy with Prime orders come from new shoppers, demonstrating the appeal of this feature to a broad audience.
