E-commerce giants Amazon and Salesforce have announced a collaboration, introducing the Buy with Prime integration for Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

The move aims to give Salesforce merchants the ability to incorporate Buy with Prime into their digital storefronts.

The newly introduced Buy with Prime for Salesforce Commerce Cloud promises a simplified and seamless integration process for merchants.

It enables them to embed the Buy with Prime option into their existing digital storefronts while maintaining control over the overall shopping experience.

Additionally, the integration simplifies day-to-day operations for merchants by automatically syncing with Salesforce Order Management, covering various aspects such as orders, promotions, and catalogue listings.

This end-to-end integration can be customised to tailor the placement and appearance of the Buy with Prime experience throughout product, cart, and checkout pages.

Brand new Buy with Prime

This collaboration introduces several new features for Salesforce merchants using Buy with Prime.

For the first time, merchants can enable search and filter capabilities on their websites, aiding shoppers in efficiently discovering Prime-eligible items.

Furthermore, Buy with Prime for Salesforce allows merchants to provide a mixed cart option to customers.

Shoppers can add both Prime-eligible and other items to their carts, streamlining the checkout process by allowing the purchase of all items in a single transaction.

The collaboration promises ongoing iterations and plans to roll out additional features in the future.

Connecting with new shoppers

Amazon emphasises its claim of assisting merchants of all sizes in growing their businesses.

With Buy with Prime, merchants can connect with new shoppers, the company says, fostering brand loyalty by offering 24/7 live chat support on Buy with Prime purchases.

Importantly, Amazon says, merchants retain ownership of the customer data that flows through Buy with Prime purchases on their websites.

By providing a familiar shopping experience with fast, free delivery, a trusted checkout process, and hassle-free returns, Buy with Prime has demonstrated an average increase in shopper conversion by 25%, says the retail giant.

Three out of every four Buy with Prime orders originate from new shoppers, adds the company.

The Buy with Prime for Salesforce Commerce Cloud integration was rolled out on 10 January, initially on an invitation-only basis for select Salesforce merchants.

It is expected to be made available to all US-based Salesforce Commerce Cloud merchants via the Salesforce AppExchange later this year.

Amazon says its collaboration with Salesforce aims to offer merchants increased flexibility and functionality, ultimately enhancing the overall shopping experience for customers.
