Amazon is empowering small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Europe with the power of generative AI.

The company announced the expansion of its AI-powered listing tools to sellers in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK.

This follows the successful rollout in the US, with more than 30,000 European sellers already benefiting from the technology.

What are generative AI listing tools?

These tools simplify product listing creation for sellers.

By providing a few keywords or uploading a product image, sellers can generate compelling titles, descriptions, and other details.

Amazon suggests high-quality, customer-friendly listings, saving sellers time and allowing them to focus on other areas of their business.

Benefits for sellers

Faster listing creation: Generate product descriptions in minutes, not hours.

Improved content quality: AI ensures consistent and comprehensive product information.

Enhanced customer experience: Richer product details lead to better-informed purchase decisions.

Increased sales and reduced returns: Clearer product descriptions can drive sales and minimise returns.

Focus on growth: Spend less time on listing creation and more on business strategy.

The power of AI in retail

Amazon has a long history of using AI to support sellers.

This includes personalised product recommendations, demand forecasting, and AI-powered pricing tools.

Generative AI is the latest advancement, allowing sellers to create high-quality listings quickly and efficiently.

A recent Amazon study of 2,500 European SMBs revealed the transformative potential of AI.

Key findings include:

  • 77% of early adopters report time savings and increased efficiency.
  • 74% say AI improves product content quality.
  • 72% believe AI leads to higher profitability.

The research also found that AI can significantly reduce the time spent on product descriptions, from an average of eight hours to one hour.

Additionally, more than a third of SMBs believe AI-generated content can improve product discoverability, a critical challenge for many businesses.

Amazon's generative AI tools are constantly evolving.

The company said it is committed to providing sellers with even more powerful tools to streamline operations, enhance customer engagement, and drive growth.
