Global retailer Walmart has started testing a new programme, Check Out With Me, in select stores across the US to help customers save time while shopping.
The move is aimed at delivering a convenient shopping experience to customers.
Check Out With Me is in its testing phase and currently in operation in the Lawn & Garden Centres of more than 350 stores.
The service allows customers to shop for lawn and garden products such as soil, mulch and flowers, and pay on the spot without going to the store’s checkout counters.
As part of the programme, Lawn & Garden associates will be provided with cellular devices and bluetooth printers for the service.
Associates will first scan the products using the Check Out With Me mobile device, swipe the customer’s credit card to process a payment and then offer customers a printed or electronic receipt on the spot.

The supermarket chain recently announced plans to launch its revamped e-commerce website to create a more modern digital shopping experience.
Starting in May this year, the new shopping website will go live for customers with a new look and feel.
As part of the redesign, the website will feature more local and personalised elements, offering various products from diapers and laundry detergents to dining room tables.
