British supermarket chain Waitrose and oil and gas firm Shell will offer more combined services and install electric vehicle (EV) charging points in an expansion of their partnership.
The companies have agreed to provide Waitrose food at another 68 Shell stores across the UK, taking the total number of stores to at least 125 by 2025.
There are currently 57 Shell forecourt shops selling Waitrose food and beverage products in the country.
The companies will also offer John Lewis’ Click and Collect service at up to 80 more Shell forecourts over the coming weeks, making the service accessible at more than 1,000 locations.
Shell has also pledged to install 800 of its Shell Recharge EV charging points at at least 100 Waitrose stores by 2025.
Each site will feature six 22kW rapid charging points and two 50kW rapid charging points.

Waitrose executive director James Bailey said: “This is an important partnership for Waitrose and means we can offer even greater convenience to more of our customers.
“We’re also delighted to bring our customers 800 new charging points for EVs, including new rapid charging capabilities, as the UK moves more and more towards a sustainable transport network.”
The EV charging point installation is in line with Shell’s goal to expand its Shell Recharge chain to 5,000 charge points on forecourts and other locations by 2025.
Shell UK retail general manager Bernadette Williamson said: “This is great news for EV drivers across the UK, knowing they can easily, quickly and reliably charge up at Shell charge points while shopping at Waitrose.
“We want to make EV charging as hassle-free as possible and support our customers wherever they want to charge.”
In April, Waitrose announced it would expand its Deliveroo service to another 110 locations in the UK after a successful trial.
