UK-based supermarket chain Waitrose & Partners has extended its distribution partnership with contract logistics provider GXO.
Under the terms of the new agreement, which includes multi-service regional and national distribution, GXO will continue to operate two key distribution hubs located inside the retailer’s Milton Keynes campus in the UK.
GXO deploys more than 860 team members at the 950,000ft² Magna Park national distribution centre, picking and dispatching nearly 85 million cases a year.
The logistic provider also deployed more than 810 team members at the 320,000ft² Brinklow regional distribution centre.
Works at the facility include picking, dispatching and delivering chilled and fresh products.
The centre processes 51 million cases annually.

By GlobalDataAs part of the partnership, GXO is also planning to deploy technologies that will expedite continuous improvement of efficiencies and service levels across the two sites.
Waitrose distribution operations (Grocery) and transport head Doug Kay said: “After a successful three years, GXO has become a trusted partner. GXO also offers a range of warehousing and reverse logistics solutions, including GXO Direct and its Click & Collect and returns management service to John Lewis Partnership.
Waitrose & Partners has 331 shops in England, Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands.
