US-based on-demand delivery platform Waitr has partnered with software logistics delivery provider Burq to expand delivery options for customers.
Waitr powered by ASAP will focus on converting from a food-only delivery service to a broader ‘deliver anything’ model.
Under the terms of the agreement, the service will deliver from retailers in various sectors, including apparel, fashion, luxury and sporting goods.
Waitr CEO and Board chairman Carl Grimstad said: “Our vision is to provide same-day delivery of a wide range of items our customers need and want.
“We believe this new partnership with Burq is another noteworthy step toward accomplishing our mission.”
On-demand and same-day delivery provider Burq collaborates with retailers from multiple industries, specialising in small and medium-sized businesses in apparel, fashion, luxury and sporting goods.

Burq co-founder Salman Habib said: “Burq’s new relationship with Waitr will make it easier and more convenient for customers to get what they need and fast from their favourite retail outlet.
“Our best-in-class technology and delivery infrastructure complements Waitr’s vast driver base that is essential to meet the demands of on-demand customers.”
Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, Waitr operates an online ordering technology platform, providing delivery, takeaway and dine-in options, together with Bite Squad and Delivery Dudes.
The three companies operate in around 1,000 cities across the US as of 31 March.
The collaboration with Burq is Waitr’s second major retail delivery partnership as it transitions to a larger delivery model.
Last month, the company partnered with multinational convenience store chain 7-Eleven to expand its delivery options.
As part of the agreement, Waitr, Bite Squad and Delivery Dudes will deliver from more than 700 7-Eleven stores across the US.
The nationwide partnership is intended to offer Waitr customers more delivery options.
