Delivery service provider Uber Eats has partnered with US-based supermarket chain Wegmans Food Markets to deliver the supermarket’s products directly to customers.

From January 2025, Uber Eats users can now order groceries from Wegmans locations across Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington DC via the Uber Eats and Uber apps.

Wegmans stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware will join the app in February.

Customers can order essential groceries, ready-to-eat meals, artisanal breads, fresh produce and an international selection of cheeses.

Members of Uber One can access free delivery and receive a 5% markdown on Wegmans orders exceeding $35.

Newcomers to Wegmans’ services can receive promotional discounts up to 40% on subsequent purchases of $60 or more until 5 February, subject to terms specified within the app.

Uber North American grocery and retail delivery head Hashim Amin said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Wegmans to the Uber Eats app this January. Wegmans is synonymous with high-quality food and exceptional service, and now customers can easily order everything they need for game day entertaining — from fresh produce to prepared meals and snacks — delivered right to their door. This partnership is another step in our mission to make grocery shopping more convenient and accessible for everyone.”

The partnership with Uber Eats enables Wegmans to improve convenience by offering more options to customers.

Shoppers can make collective family orders, schedule purchases at their convenience and navigate potential item substitutions with real-time tracking options.

Wegmans marketing and digital growth vice-president Erica Tickle said: “Our goal is to make meals easy and help our customers live healthier, better lives through exceptional food. Partnering with Uber and expanding our delivery network is just one way we’re able to continue delivering on that mission.”

In December 2023, Instacart partnered with Wegmans to launch an alcohol delivery service for the first time in New Jersey.
