NAVER’s corporate venturing arm NAVER D2SF has made a strategic investment in STUDIO LAB, a startup specialising in AI-powered e-commerce content generation.
The startup is developing multimodal AI technology, GENCY, that streamlines the creation of product detail pages (PDPs), which are essential for guiding customer purchasing decisions on online marketplaces.
Traditionally, crafting these PDPs has been a resource-intensive process. However, STUDIO LAB’s automated system promises to produce effective PDPs that can potentially increase conversion rates without the extensive input previously required.
STUDIO LAB’s GENCY utilises multimodal AI to create high-converting e-commerce PDPs in seconds.
The solution generates complete PDPs by uploading product photos. It takes between 15–30 seconds to deliver optimised marketing copies, layouts, and detailed designs.
With over five proprietary AI models, including a fashion-specialised Vision-Language Pretrainingmodel, STUDIO LAB’s system can analyse clothing characteristics with precision.
The AI models have been trained on more than 10,000 PDPs and over 200,000 image-text data points.
This comprehensive approach not only creates individual elements but also provides end-to-end solutions for sellers. It facilitates automated A/B testing and personalisation by analysing and relearning from page data.
STUDIO LAB is currently expanding its reach within the fashion industry, having secured approximately 30 partners such as LF, W Concept, GS Retail, and Shinsegae.
The company reports significant improvements in user engagement and clicks after the adoption of their solution.
Interest in STUDIO LAB’s services is increasing globally with inquiries from markets such as Japan and the US. Plans are underway to extend the company’s services to other sectors, including jewellery.
NAVER D2SF head Sanghwan Yang said: “The commerce sector is actively adopting various technologies, including generative AI, 3D, robotics, and sellers on NAVER’s shopping platform are increasingly implementing generative AI solutions to boost sales.
”We will pursue various collaboration opportunities between STUDIO LAB and NAVER Shopping.”
