Online home furnishings brand Songmics Home has opened three new self-operated warehouses in Duisburg, Germany and Coventry, UK.

The two warehouses in Duisburg span 65,000m² and represent more than half of Songmics Home’s warehouse capacity in Germany.

Known as DUI and DPT, the new warehouses are operated by Euziel International, the company’s German business.

The facilities will cut delivery costs for container shipments by 25%.

Euziel International general manager Yi Kong said: “The Duisburg logport is a pivotal hub for our goods.

“The lease agreement provides us with an opportunity to establish a foothold in the world’s largest inland port, optimising our flow of goods.”

Duisburg’s port is crucial for the brand, handling 30% of the rail trade between China and Europe.

In Coventry, the new warehouse, managed by Furnolic, will add 15,000m² of space.

The facility will improve last-mile delivery efficiency in the UK.

The expansions contribute an additional 80,000m² in total to the European market, where Songmics Home has established a brand presence since 2010.

More than 80% of Songmics Home’s European line transit to warehouses via Duisburg.

Duisport CEO Markus Bangen said: “We are delighted to lease the existing property on Mercator Island to Euziel, a trusted partner with whom we have an established working relationship at another Duisburg port location.”

Songmics Home now operates more than 350,000m² of independent warehouse space globally, with hubs in Germany, the US, the UK and China.

The brand’s global revenue hit $861m in 2023. In European markets, it saw a 21.6% year-on-year growth.

Songmics Home now aims to further expand and upgrade its warehousing and logistics network in Europe to deliver furnishing solutions to consumers.
