Appriss Retail has unveiled a new integration with Shopify’s commerce platform, providing store owners with tools to tackle returns and claims fraud.

The integration introduces an AI-driven solution from Appriss Retail that combats fraud, enhances the return process for genuine customers and streamlines operations for Shopify merchants across various sales channels.

The combination of the Appriss retail returns and claims app with Shopify’s point of sale app or a company’s existing commerce platform offers a straightforward setup process.

The system aims to lower the frequency of product returns, which in turn can lead to an uptick in sales and an enhancement of profit margins.

Appriss Retail’s solution also reduces fraudulent claims where customers report items as not received.

It focuses on refining the returns process, making it more customer-friendly, which can result in higher customer lifetime value for a retailer’s most loyal consumer base.

The solution is designed to work harmoniously with established returns management portals, such as those provided by Optoro and Narvar, ensuring a cohesive and uninterrupted experience from start to finish.

It also addresses the issue of constantly having to modify return policies — a practice that often inconveniences honest customers without effectively deterring fraudulent behaviour.

In August 2024, Shopify partnered with Pivotree, integrating its enterprise commerce platform with Pivotree’s expertise in building advanced digital solutions.
