US-based department store chain Kohl’s has announced the 400 Kohl’s stores that are due to add a Sephora beauty shop this year.
The stores are located across 36 US states, eight of which have not yet hosted a Sephora shop.
In addition to the 200 shops opened last year, the number of Sephora at Kohl’s locations will reach 600 by the end of this year.
Sephora at Kohl’s stores are 2,500ft² in size and house ‘carefully curated’ assortments of prestige makeup, skincare, haircare and fragrance brands.
The two retailers initially partnered in December 2020 and launched the Sephora at Kohl’s concept last year.
They aim to open 850 joint concept stores by next year.
Sephora at Kohl’s stores feature testing and discovery zones where customers can try new, emerging or trending products.
They are staffed by Sephora-trained beauty advisors, who can provide personalised beauty consultations and assistance with finding products.
Kohl’s chief merchandising officer Doug Howe said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing Sephora at Kohl’s closer to millions more of our customers nationwide through this 400-store expansion.
“The quick and vast rollout of Sephora at Kohl’s is a testament to how much we believe in this partnership and making prestige beauty more accessible to people everywhere.
“We’re excited to grow and bring this elevated beauty experience to more of Kohl’s existing and new customers this year.”
In addition to expanding Sephora at Kohl’s, the partners plan to add six new prestige beauty brands, namely Murad, Clarins, Jack Black, Living Proof, Versace and Voluspa, to their concept stores this year.
These will complement the other brands currently available at the stores, which include Rare Beauty, NARS, Charlotte Tilbury, Kiehl’s, Giorgio Armani, Olaplex, Clinique and Sephora Collection.
