British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has announced a seven-year expansion of its strategic partnership with digital commerce solutions provider NCR Voyix.
The partners aim to improve the shopping experience and support the retailer’s Next Level business strategy.
Sainsbury’s is set to upgrade 22,500 checkouts with the NCR Voyix commerce platform, point-of-sale (POS) solutions and next-generation self-checkout systems across its supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations.
These advanced technologies, powered by NCR Voyix Edge software, are designed to offer innovative solutions for both Sainsbury’s customers and staff.
By leveraging NCR Voyix’s cloud technology, Sainsbury’s will gain access to real-time data and analytics, utilising artificial intelligence for sales analysis, future performance projections, colleague productivity and cash management.
The new platform will allow staff to authorise transactions remotely via tablet, expediting the checkout process and enhancing the overall shopping experience.
