International fashion retailer Primark has announced the opening of two new stores in the US as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.  

The first store is in the Florida Mall in Orlando, opening on 29 August 2024 with 36,200² of retail space.  

The new Orlando store will cater to a wide range of shoppers, providing the latest fashion trends and everyday essentials for the whole family at competitive prices.  

The location will also feature a unique Disney-themed floor, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of The Lion King movie. 

Primark’s decision to dedicate an entire floor to Disney merchandise is a strategic move to attract the vast number of fans in the area, especially given the new store’s proximity to Walt Disney World Resort. 

The retailer’s growth in the Southern states is evident with its current presence at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Florida and a distribution centre in Jacksonville, Florida.

Primark also plans to open three stores in Texas.

Following the Florida opening, Primark will also make its debut in Michigan with a store at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills on 12 September.  

This store, with more than 36,600ft² of retail space, will provide shoppers in the Detroit area with a range of fashion, homewares and beauty products.  

With the new openings, Primark’s US footprint reaches 27 stores across 11 states and exceeds 450 stores worldwide. 

In June 2024, Primark announced plans to open a new store in the Tysons Corner Center, Tysons, Virginia, US on 16 July.
