Canadian Technology logistics company ParcelPal Technology has signed a cannabis distribution deal with Canadian cannabis retailer Kiaro to deliver cannabis products from Kiaro’s physical and digital retail channels.
ParcelPal and Kiaro will work collaboratively to develop plans for the distribution of adult use cannabis products. The agreement is the second strategic partnership for ParcelPal to manage cannabis deliveries.
They also plan to enhance the user experience and improve product accessibility by combining their technology platforms.
The companies will focus on meeting parameters, set by all the relevant regulatory bodies for cannabis products, as well as plan to offer cannabis delivery within the hour.
ParcelPal Technology president and CEO Kelly Abbott said: “We are extremely excited to sign a distribution agreement with Kiaro and we will immediately begin planning and executing for all last mile operations.
“Our objective is to become the Uber of cannabis in Canada and this takes us one step closer to our goal. Cannabis delivery is expensive and often through antiquated courier services – with consumers waiting over a week to receive their items.
“With ParcelPal, customers will receive their cannabis products safely within an hour. Our technology enables seamless integration with any cannabis retail outlet or eCommerce platform.”
ParcelPal noted that customers should upload and verify their identities to place orders for cannabis or alcohol through the ParcelPal platform, and be present to receive the order in person.
