Food retailer Honey Baked Ham Company has announced its plans to hire 12,000 seasonal employees to meet consumer demand in the busy holiday season.
The company's senior vice-president Molly Kesmodel said: “From Thanksgiving to the start of the new year, we serve more than 2.5 million consumers. Each year we count on seasonal employees to help us serve our customers and their families during this special time of the year.”
Founded in 1957, HoneyBaked Ham serves ham, turkey breast with other pre-cooked entrées, side dishes, and desserts. It has 400 outlets in the US.
The new employees will be inducted into customer service, production, and sales associate positions. The hiring plan is 20% higher this year than in 2015, when the company recruited 10,000 seasonal employees.
Kesmodel said: “As the economy has improved, we have seen an increase in demand for our products and expect we will need additional staff this year."
