

Global home furnishings retailer Ikea has opened a new store in Burbank, California, US.
The new 456,000ft² store is located on 22 acres west of San Fernando Boulevard and south of Providencia Avenue, which is nearly one mile far from its oldest store in the western US.
Ikea opened its first Burbank store in 1990. This outlet was closed on 4 February.
Ikea Burbank store manager Jeff O’Shaughnessy said: “The enthusiasm of coworkers about offering customers an updated, spacious and enhanced IKEA shopping experience is translating into excitement and a great shopping event for our customers.”
The furnishing retailer stated that its new Burbank store has approximately 575 employees, of which 150 are new.
This store stocks around 10,000 exclusively designed items and features a 600-seat restaurant, around 50 inspirational room settings, as well as three model home interiors.

By GlobalDataIt also features a supervised children’s play area and a parking space that can hold 1,700 vehicles as well as six electric vehicle charging stations.
Earlier this week, the home furnishings retailer unveiled plans to open a store in Columbus, Ohio, later this year.
The retailer has 392 stores in 48 countries, including 43 in the US.
