India’s Future Supply Chain Solutions has opened a new integrated apparels / general merchandise distribution centre at Burdwan district in West Bengal.
Spread over 260,000ft², the new distribution centre is capable of serving all Big Bazaar and FBB stores located in the states of West Bengal, Orissa and Bihar, as well as other North Eastern states.
With its standardised distribution processes, full automation and integrated IT solutions, the centre will ensure a better level of service to customers across the country.
Future Group CEO Kishore Biyani said: “The new distribution centre at Burdwan will enable us to reduce complexity, increase productivity and offer better services to our customers in the Eastern region.
“Our aim has always been to come up with better processes and technology that enables us to operate seamlessly.”
The centre is strategically located at the junction of Old GT road and Kolkata-Delhi Highway.
Future Supply is responsible for managing the supply chain and enables its customers to focus on their core activities.
The company provides services such as storage, retail store replenishment, inventory planning and control, vendor management, quality assurance, barcoding and packaging solutions.
It has 120 branches across India and 46 warehouses, including six logistic parks covering six million square feet.
